PISD Enrollment and Growth

Plano's explosive growth over the past twenty years, which continues today, has placed us among the top five fastest growing cities in the nation. According to the U.S. Department of Education's 1995 statistics (based on 1993 data), PISD ranks as the 121st largest school district in the nation. This places a tremendous burden on our schools to keep pace with ballooning enrollments.

The PISD's demographic projections, while they regularly underestimate actual enrollment, are still fairly reliable - after all, it's as much an art as a science. This section of the Unofficial School Page is simply another data archive, letting you see for yourself which schools are growing fastest, and which are over or under capacity. Sources are cited in footnotes, however, where there is a source other than the PISD, that source, in turn, cited the PISD as their source.
