The Plano ISD Board of Trustees is made up of seven members, elected at large from our community. Each serves a three year term, and elections are staggered so that only two or three are elected each May.
      This board is the governing body of the school district, answerable to nobody but the voters of the district. They are supposed to represent the interests of parents and taxpayers - not the district. They have final approval over budgets, taxes, curriculum, hiring and firing of administrators - even unusual disputes over attendance, grades and discipline of students.
